Boy Meets Girl?

Hello..i guess the title managed to attract your attention to read on..haha..it's funny how certain titles can keep your eyes glued on or ears tuned on..especially when it comes to BGR topic..boy-girl relationship..i've just read the book Boy Meets Girl by Joshua Harris and would like to share some insights along with my opinions from the book..believe me or not..i've never ever dated a guy..not even once..i've kissed dating goodbye like Joshua Harris..my girlfriends used to envy me for being the one whom guys will ask for the number wherever i go..somehow, all of them are attached today..all except me which bring their concern for my love life..whenever we meet up, there goes the same question..Mei Chern, where's ur boyfriend? Aiya..don't be so picky la..

Let me clarify..as a woman of God, i've learnt to trust God on this particular area - my relationship area..first, i want God to be the locus of my life..whatever that i do, it shall be God-focused..as for BGR matters, i'm not worried about meeting the right one..yes, there are a number of guys who are pursuing me but i'm firm with my decision to keep my vow with God not to be involved in any BGR until the period has ended..many would said that it is a sad decision for those who do not understand but in fact i would say that being single is a gift and BLESSING in fact..a season for me to focus on God and Him alone without any distraction..

It is also a season for me to prepare myself before getting involved in a relationship as it is a new phase of life..a BGR is a SERIOUS matter for both the man and woman..it's about trusting in God when it comes into starting a relationship, not one another as that is of the worldly thought..it's about ROMANCE with PURPOSE..to discover whether both of you can complement one another like Adam and Eve..courtship is about a relationship between a man and woman as they weigh the idea of marriage together..a journey to discover one another..

Everyone has the beautiful side of their love story if they were to wait upon the Lord..a relationship should not be rushed..it's like a process of baking a cake..the cake would not turn out nice if you were to skip one of the steps..courtship is a time for two people to grow in friendship, get to know one another and interact as a couple along with the consideration of marriage as a wise choice at hand..however, there are some courtship stories that ended up with two people deciding that they should remain as friends..

Adam is created first before Eve..hence, a man is suppose to assume the responsibility of leading and initiating in relationships with women..therefore, guys should be the one to initiate..a girl should never ever initiate..Eve is created as a helper to Adam..a woman is to submit to her husband as he is the leader of the household..therefore, my idea of a healthy relationship will be of one which i can thank God for a relationship is a GIFT from God..with both of us relying on GOD as the source of comfort and strength in the realtionship, NOT on one another which others often regard in today's world..

God had our future planned right in front of us at times..i pray for the peace of God to come as i prepare myself for the right guy..that i shall rely on Him instead of relying on my own plans..my favorite verse just struck me many times recently..Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust the Lord with ALL your HEART and lean not on your own understanding, in ALL your ways ACKNOWLEDGE Him and He shall direct your paths!" Amen=) Well, a beautiful love story from me awaits to be unfolded as i trust in Him for wisdom in the story of Boy Meets Girl as God leads me to the journey of romance with a purpose;) hope to share the story by writing a book sometime in the future if God allows me..hehe;)

Do Re Mi?

Do Re Mi..Fa So La Ti Do..haha..i love my childhood memories..grew up with so much fun..days of my masak-masak..Barbie dolls- around 10 of them that i cut my Barbie doll hair..guess i was too naive as i thought that the hair would grow back..
Well, looking back to the good old days..we often ponder and smile as we reminisce on it..today is 15 September 2008..time is flying by without us realising it..i'm 22 years old already..need to note that i have stepped into adulthood already..
At times, i forgot about my age when people asked..not that i'm trying to hide my age or what..it's just that time passes by with just a blink and there goes a year..i have less than a year left in UTM before i graduate..wana make the best out of what i have during my campus days left..
I'm keen for a breakthrough in this stage of my life..wana make the very best out of what i have now..through thick and thin, God is and will always be my beautiful Saviour in my life..i am who i am because of Him..praise the Lord..
Stressful? Yes, i would say that all students face the problems in life..it's the matter of dealing with the issues..choose to face it with God by your side or yourself? A wise decision works best for us..allow God into our life!

Let's Drive, People!

Guess what? I'm having an adventure with God everyday..driving is not easy..especially if you are driving a manual car..imagine being stuck in a traffic jam for hours..sobs..well, your journey begins as you start to drive..and you need the guts and all the courage in the world to drive a car..same goes for those who have yet to accept Christ..you need to step out and be open to accept Jesus into your life..first lesson- first gear..if it is your very first time driving..first gear is not easy as you need to balance the clutch and the accelerator well before you can move on to second gear etc..haha..i had difficulty with first gear when i was learning to drive..i guess the driving instructor nearly had an heart attack teaching me..thank God that he was patient..after overcoming first gear, the rest is history..easy as ABC..passed my driving test and got my license! Driving is more a less similar to what we experience daily..in order to get to our destination, we will go through various roads- some may be long, some may be shortcuts..not to mention obstacles such as bumps and Malaysian potholes! Just picture with me, we are Christians who are looking forward to meeting God- that would be our destination..as we drive, we will definitely go through various roads..that would be decisions which we made in life..the bumps and potholes are the obstacles that we faced in our daily life which will lead us to detours if we are not careful..but as we continue to trust in the Lord, the obstacles that we encountered would somehow turn positive in a way..for example, bumps will slow us down and prevents accidents..same goes for us, at times God wants us to experience trials in order to prepare us for the future..God has BIG plans for us..as we head on to our journey, we need petrol..God's words (Bible) will keep us moving..continue to fill the tank with His words and they will carry us through this very journey of life..the car needs maintenance- we need to send the car for service constantly..just like us- we need to check on ourselves from time to time..we need the car to travel right? The Holy Spirit is like the car..as drivers, we need to get used to the car and comfortable in order to travel in the car..the car needs the driver to move, the driver needs the car to travel..it's about working hand-in-hand along with the Holy Spirit as we are heading to grow God's kingdom..this just struck me as i drove to JB and Singapore for the very first time yesterday in order to reach Expo..would like to share this with you guys out there..let us work along with the Holy Spirit in order to reach our destination in life..Phillippians 3:13-14 "One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" Come on, let us drive with God as the lifetime adventure unfolds!=)

Laughter is The Best Medicine!

Haha..hehe..hoho..that is just so funny..laugh till u drop..there's this saying..i guess laughter is the best medicine..when days just seem to be gloomy..some days where we find it hard to laugh..days when we are going through a turmoil of rough times..nothing seems to keep us smiling..well, the best and cheapest medicine around in the town would be..Jesus..as simple as ABC..firstly, pour out all our troubles and problems unto the Lord..let go and let God in..then spend some time indulging in pampering ourselves..ask a bunch of friends who are closest to us for a chat..time for a hearty laugh..i used to laugh without sound..i did not realised until my few of my friends pointed it out..peculiar? Guess it's due to my upbringing..recently, i've been laughing aloud..thanks to my friends..indeed God has made life filled with laughters and tears..Isaiah 61:10.."My soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation".

God's Most Treasured Possession

Who is God's most treasured possession? The answer is YOU! Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you." God has never made mistakes on you..He is so proud of you since the day you were born even before your mum knew that she is going to have a baby..God is full of wonders and He has made you wonderfully beautiful in His eyes..you may feel lost and wander what on earth are you here? Fret not as God has much more in store just for you..God has a specific purpose for you and only you on earth that no one else can fulfill..you may see the small pixels but God has a bigger picture of megapixels with you in the scene..take time to understand God's purpose for you by spending time with Him..fellowship with God is never the same when you open up to Him totally and trusting in Him for the days to come..Don't ever think that you are useless..God treasured you as His greatest possession..He loves you=) same goes for your family and friends..God loves them as well..

Love Tank

Oh no..out of petrol!!! Save me..sound familiar right? haha..came across all these in campus..life as a student is not easy..we got to depend on our parents and manage our expenditures well..we can always pull over to the nearest petrol station when the petrol indicator is popping..but..can we stop over and fill our love tank? Nope..Youths today often complained that they lack of love..the truth is we can never have enough of love if we fail to love..how can we fill our love tank? God has the answer to that question..by loving Him wholeheartedly, we learn to love people fervently..we are confused as we assume that love is a feeling..if you don't feel love, you can't act love..but this is a decision, a choice which means at times, you do not feel good..why don't we stop and give ourselves some time to learn what love is from God's perspective..it doesn't feel a certain way..instead it acts in a certain way..love never fails- 1 Corinthians 13 is a beautiful verse on the true meaning of love..God is Love..
